WELCOME TO INVESTOR WELFARE

Using science to improve corporate practices and investor welfare. While much is written about best practices in business, often the advice offered is based on intuition or hunch rather than solid economic theory or well-documented empirical evidence. To infuse science into practice, the center promotes research, teaching and service that emphasizes the rigorous application of scientific principles to investment management and corporate practices.

CalPERS & CalSTRS Fellowships

The UC Davis Graduate School of Management, the California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS), and the California State Teachers' Retirement System (CalSTRS) have partnered to create a Student Fellowship Program. The program provides an opportunity for qualified students interested in the financial services industry to gain valuable experience at CalPERS or CalSTRS while completing their MBA at UC Davis.

Curriculum

The UC Davis Graduate School of Management is committed to weaving contemporary social, environmental, and economic issues into its curriculum. By touching on these issues in many of courses, UC Davis creates a culture that values the tremendous wealth creation offered by corporate activity, while recognizing the potential social and environmental consequences of corporate actions.

Alumni

Alumni Main PageAlthough the Graduate School of Management is small and young, many alumni hold influential positions in the financial services industry.

NET IMPACT

The Center works closely with the local chapter of Net Impact, which is a student organization dedicated to creating a network of business leaders who use the power of business to create a positive net social, environmental, and economic impact. The UC Davis chapter of Net Impact was honored as the Small School Net Impact Chapter of the Year in 2006.
